Annual flu vaccinations are recommended for those most at risk of flu. Pregnant women, anyone living with a long term condition, anyone aged 65 and over, people with caring responsibilities, children aged 2 to 10 years are all entitled.
We run a range of clinics. For an appointment or further details, please call our main appointments line on 0191 371 02 32 using option 2 to book an appointment - the line is open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The practice provides management of care to all our patients who are ill or believe themselves to be ill, with conditions from which recovery is generally expected, for the duration of that condition, including relevant health promotion advice and referral as appropriate, reflecting patient choice wherever practicable, and also provides the general management of patients who are terminally ill.
Antenatal
Wednesday: 12.45 pm – 3.15 pm for booking appointments
Thursday: 09.15 am – 12.00 pm for follow up appointments
This clinic is run by the Midwives. If you become pregnant, you will be given a ‘one hour booking appointment’ on a Wednesday afternoon at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. Please make sure that you collect an antenatal pack from our Reception before you attend. You will be seen regularly at the afternoon clinic throughout your pregnancy either at the practice, the local hospital or both.
Asthma/COPD
Led by our nurse Jillian, she offers advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with asthma/COPD.
Child Health and Immunisation
Thursday 09:00am - 11.45 am
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old.
Counselling Clinic
By individual arrangements.
Diabetes
Tuesday 11.00 – 14.30 pm and Friday 8:00 - 11:30 am
Led by our nursing team, these clinics offer advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes.
District Nurses
Visit patients who are unable to come to the surgery. For patients already being seen by the District Nursing team, their number is 0191 333 7195.
Health Visitors
They can be contacted on 03000 268 643 for advice for your baby or children under school age.

Friday 8.30 am – 12 noon
Minor Surgery
Monthly clinics
Minor operations can be carried out in our treatment room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.
Podiatry
Tuesday 1.00 pm – 3.40 pm
Led by the community podiatrist, this clinic offers treatment and advice primarily to patients diagnosed with Diabetes.
Shingles Vaccination
This year we are offering our patients aged 70 up to their 80'th birthday. Please ask at reception if you are eligible.
Smear Clinics
Appointments can be made any time.
Stopping Smoking
Run by our smoking cessation advisors, Beryl and Jillian, this clinic gives advice and support to patients trying to give up smoking.
